At Gardens Physiotherapy we use a wonderful massage wax which is produced locally and uses only natural products, created by Geoff Oswald.
When Geoff started his sports massage business in 1994, he spent the first few years trying a variety of different massage waxes, oils and lotions, all of which were either too strongly scented or contained petroleum products. Wanting a more natural product, Geoff started the journey of creating his own massage wax with ingredients sourced from the Otago region.
His special and unique recipe is now well refined, using beeswax and arnica montana from the golden plains of the Maniototo, and lavender oil from Abordale Lavender farm on the fertile Taieri plains. The wax won’t spill, it melts at body temperature and gives good grip to the technique.
Having been tested on the Silver Ferns and a number of our international cyclists with great success, Geoff now provides the product to various physiotherapists and massage therapists.
Here at Gardens Physiotherapy we also use it on the Otago Volts Cricket team with great success.
