When working with athletes, injury prevention is often needed long before the season starts. If imbalances within your body are not attended to, it can lead to a lack of performance and a higher chance of injury.
Physiotherapists are trained to be able to identify issues and imbalances within your body which are easier to be fixed before an injury begins.
Your Physiotherapist will also be able to give you personalised exercises to address any problems.
Problems that can occur are:
- Tight muscles
- Weak muscles
- Poor proprioception (balance)
- Poor sport technique
- Poor cardiovascular fitness
- Structural changes to skeletal system i.e. Osteoporosis
